Plains Game Packages
Our choice of hunting packages caters for both the individual hunter and groups of hunters. These hunts are the ideal opportunity to get friends and family together to catch-up on old times next to the comfort of a campfire in the evenings and sharing the adrenalin rush of the hunt during the day.
Hunters will be accommodated in our comfortable farmhouse that is equipped to accommodate up to 10 people and comprises of 5 twin bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, lounge, dining room and kitchen.
Clients have the option to full catered accommodation that includes a brunch and a “braai” in the evenings. Should clients choose to cater for themselves the kitchen is fully equipped with all cutlery, crockery, cookery, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and stove. The bedrooms are equipped with linen. The Lounge is equipped with a television, DSTV and DVD player. A member of staff will do basic housekeeping every day. Firewood will also be provided.
All clients will be guided by qualified professional hunter and will be instructed on which game to hunt. We pride ourselves on the availability of game and guarantee all clients that they will have ample opportunity to hunt their bag. Therefore all hunting packages are guaranteed. Should you want to hunt extra game or trophy animals they are available as optional extras as per the pricelist. However the package booked is the minimum and no game in the package will be traded for trophy animals. All game mentioned in packages are non-trophy and include the male or female of animals.
The skinning facilities are equipped for basic carcass preparation and cooling. Members of staff are available to skin your animals. Clients are responsible to oversee the skinning of their animals and the preparation of meat and skins. The company, management and staff cannot take any responsibility in this regard.
All clients will be guided by a qualified professional hunter and will be instructed on which game to hunt.
Please take note that clients are welcome from 14:00pm in the afternoon on the day of arrival and requested to vacate the property before 09:00am on the day of departure.
The package excludes: Accommodation rates in the Farmhouse, Meals, Drinks, Rental of Hunting Vehicle, Rifle and Ammunition Rental, Airport Pick-up, laundry, ect.
We offer the following choices in 2012 to suit most hunters and to fit your budget.
1 Day Package: From Sunday to Tuesday OR Tuesday to Thursday and includes 2 Blesbuck, 2 Blue Wildebeest, 2 Impala per hunting group
Midweek Package: From Sunday to Wednesday and includes 1 Blesbuck, 3 BlueWildebeest, 3 Impala and 1 Kudu per hunting group
Weekend Package: From Wednesday to Sunday and includes 2 Blesbuck, 7 BlueWildebeest, 6 Impala, 1 Kudu per hunting group Eland Package: from Wednesday to Sunday and includes 2 Blesbuck, 6 BlueWildebeest, 6 Impala, 1 Kudu, 1 Eland per hunting group
Note: All game mentioned in packages are non-trophy and include male or female animals.

Trophy Hunting Package
This is the pride of Swala Lodge and is an exclusive holiday package with high standards of accommodation, facilities and service. We cater for parties of minimum 2 people and up to 8 people. The package includes all from when we meet you until we drop you off at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport.
We have many trophy animals on the reserve and have found in the past that our guests prefer the exclusive package to take advantage of the wide selection of representative animals. We offer a 7-day package of 7 animals with a cafeteria choice of suitable species that you want to hunt.
Guests will be accommodated in the luxurious lodge that was purpose built in 2001 and is designed to provide luxury accommodation for a small number of discerning guests. There are seven double bedrooms, a large dining and lounge area, a designer built swimming pool and large lapa, or porch, which is the most popular part of the whole building. All of the 3000 hectare reserve and facilities of the lodge are available for your exclusive use.
Should you hunting party include non-hunting guests there is no chance they will be bored here. If you want to relax and take it easy that’s fine, but for the energetic we have a tremendous range of activities to occupy our guests.
We breed horses on the actual reserve and guests are welcome to go on escorted bush rides or take riding lessons. We also use horse drawn carriages quite a lot for game viewing and it is great fun to learn how to drive a carriage. We also have dune buggies combined with 60 kilometres of our own roads for the exclusive use of our guests. There are extensive bush walks and jogging trails, which are very picturesque. All the mentioned activities come with supervision and coaching. The emphasis is on relaxation and enjoyment at all times and you dictate the pace. Essentially we tailor each package to meet your requirements. When you are not hunting and to help you make the most of your experience we can arrange and accompany you on the following excursions:

Cheetah and Wild Dog centre
At night we have drinks around the campfire and dinner on the Lapa or we may take you into the bush for a ‘braai’. As sunset approaches we often take a sun downer in the bush around a campfire before heading back to the lodge.

In the package you have a choice of 4 animals from the list of Kudu, Zebra, Oryx, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, and Waterbuck with the remaining 3 animals comprising Impala, Blesbuck and Warthog. All animals will be good representative beasts and it is possible to trade off within your package.
